A relaxing game of golf in the Gooi region of Holland
In the centre of The Netherlands, 30 kilometres from Amsterdam and Utrecht, is the Golf Park Spandersbosch. Located between the towns of Bussum and Hilversum, this golf park was opened in 2005, designed to fit into a protected natural environment and to adjoin the largest ecological bridge in Europe. Despite its central and easily accessible location, the park and its natural surroundings of heath and woods are an oasis of calm. The golfpark consists of two 9-hole golf courses, a modern club house, partly-covered driving range, golf school and golf shop.
Two 9-hole courses
Both courses are technically challenging, having been designed in character by the well known Dutch golf architect Gerard Jol. They are fully incorporated into, and make full use of, the natural terrain with its undulating character, slopes, trees and water. Consequently despite being young the courses have a mature appearance. The Bosch Course has the Netherlands Golf Federation-B status. Green fee players are welcome with a GVB (the Dutch golf permit) or, for foreign visitors, a permission given by the head professional. The par-3 Crailoo Course is open to all practicing golfers. The daily course ticket (weekdays € 16, -) allows unlimited play during that day. Reservations are not necessary but it is advisable to phone the caddie master / shop in advance to make sure the course is not closed for a competition or other event during the times you wish to play. Otherwise members play here on a first come – first play system and green fee players receive a tee time on arrival.
Free admission driving range
Access to the driving range is free: you only pay for the balls. There are more than 30 practice mats and bad weather will not bother you; 10 of the mats are under cover. Besides the driving range there is a practice putting green and a chipping green with bunkers.
Professional Golf School
At the driving range you will find the Golf School Spandersbosch with four experienced professionals using the most modern video swing analysis aids.
Golf shop and caddie master
The shop is located next to the driving range and is where you will also find the caddie master. Clubs are available for hire.
Clubhouse and restaurant
The modern clubhouse offers players all the usual facilities. The bar and restaurant and large sunny terrace overlook the course and the ‘Eco-bridge’, and are open seven days a week to serve drinks, lunch and dinner. A meeting room is available for hire in combination with a golf school clinic or golf package of greenfees with lunch or dinner.
